SOAR – Student Outlook Action Resources

What is SOAR?
- SOAR stands for Student Outreach Action Resources
- This program, targeted towards freshmen, allows students to be involved more directly on campus by participating in committees, discussions, and SGA events.
- SOAR has three executive positions that freshmen can apply for each Fall, however all students can be general members in this program.
- SOAR is a great way for students to build their leadership skills and kickstart their journey on SGA!
SOAR EXECUTIVES

Grace Brown
Hello everyone! My name is Grace and I am the SGA Secretary for this year. I am a junior majoring in Global Security and Intelligence Studies, and grew up in Bonney Lake, Washington. One of my main duties in this role is to oversee the SOAR program, an auxiliary program dedicated towards getting underclassmen leadership experience. SOAR is a great way for students to build their leadership skills, learn about and get involved with SGA and make an impact on campus. I am so excited to see what this year’s SOAR team will accomplish and encourage everyone to get involved.

Christopher Sorensen
My name is Christopher Sorensen! I am an Aerospace Engineering major, and I grew up in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. I am so excited to be your SOAR Director and can’t wait to get to know the SOAR members and students on campus! I am looking forward to all of the leadership opportunities, events, and chances that we will have to impact everyone’s college experience! I do go by the name Topher on occasion, or, if you are so inclined, I will also respond to Tofu! Speaking of food, I LOVE cilantro, so if you ever need a great gift idea for me, there’s a subtle suggestion for you!

Sahil Singh
Hi there! My name is Sahil Singh, and I’m a freshman majoring in Aerospace Engineering on the Astronautics track. I’m from Fremont, a city in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. When I’m not having a great time in SOAR, I occupy my days with the Rocket Development Lab (RDL), Eagle Robotics, and Scouting. When I feel like unwinding, I love going on spontaneous Dutch Bros. runs, bouldering, and hiking through the magnificent Arizona wilderness. As we enter a new world post-lockdown, I look forward to helping bring the ERAU community back together with fun events and engaging student initiatives. I am beyond excited to serve as your SOAR Assistant Director and to help create a fun, inclusive campus for all of us. Hello! My name is Natalie Castillo, I’m from Las Vegas, Nevada, and majoring in Global Security and Intelligence Studies. I’m a licensed skydiver, and love adventure in general. Throughout the next few years here, and this year as marketing director, I really look forward to helping SOAR grow and continuing to change Riddle for the better!

Leilani Merkle
Hey y’all! My name is Leilani Merkle. I’m a freshman majoring in Aerospace Engineering on the Astronautics track. I’m originally from Erie, Pennsylvania, up by The Great Lakes, however I moved to Tucson, Arizona just before starting college. You can find me studying on campus, walking the trails nearby, or camping just about anywhere its legal when I’ve got the time. I am more than excited to be able to help SOAR grow into the program it’s becoming to help students and your SGA on campus. Student Treasury

What is the Student Treasury?
The Student Treasury is an SGA Auxiliary Program that works under the SGA Treasurer. They have flexible roles and are responsible for:
- Overseeing budget committee and club funding
Researching additional student services to bring to Embry-Riddle
- Working directly with the SGA Treasurer to allocate portions of the SGA budget
- The Student Treasury Board is a program where all students have the opportunity to get involved with SGA and develop their leadership skills.

The Student Treasury offers students an opportunity to have more input on the SGA Budget and any new programs SGA may offer. Hey there! My name is Makayla Gill, and I am from Phelan, California. I’m here at Embry-Riddle to study Cyber Intelligence and Security and maybe a minor in Global Security and Intelligence Studies! The main clubs that I am in now are Ethical Hacking, AFIO, and ASIS but I’m still getting my feet wet with all the things campus has to offer! A little about me is I love riding dirt bikes and horses as well as hiking! I am so excited to be a part of the Student Treasury Board and assist in getting the student body’s voices heard! Hi there, my name is Hunter DiFabio, but you can call me anytime. I’m an Arizona native from the Anthem/New River area and so I’m glad to be enjoying the cold here. This year is my sophomore year on the Aerospace Engineering- Astronautics Track and I’m very excited for this year. At the moment, I’m involved in a few amazing clubs on campus such as VEX Robotics, the AEA, Chess Club, Gold Wings E-Sports, Eagle Robotics, Eagle Eye, Fencing Club, Archery Club, Psychology Club, Skate Club, Bowling Club, Ethical Hacking Club, the RDL, Volleyball Club and most importantly the Student Treasury! I strive to stay involved within the student body so that I can ensure you are heard, informed, and represented. As your Student Treasury Marketing Representative I’m very excited to help get students more involved around campus and to help clubs stay active! Hello, my name is Fjor Robles and I am a Freshman studying Aerospace Engineering on the astro track. I am from Pennsylvania but have been living in Tucson for the past five years. I am part of Delta Phi Epsilon and Rocket Development Lab. Some of my favorite activities to do are hiking, cooking, and listening to music.
