What is SOAR?
- SOAR stands for Student Outreach Action Resources
- This program, targeted towards freshmen, allows students to be involved more directly on campus by participating in committees, discussions, and SGA events.
- SOAR has three executive positions that freshmen can apply for each Fall, however all students can be general members in this program.
- SOAR is a great way for students to build their leadership skills and kickstart their journey on SGA!
Hi Everyone! As you probably already know, my name is Meagan and I am your SGA Secretary! One of my main duties in this role is to oversee the SOAR program, an auxiliary program dedicated towards freshmen. SOAR is a great way for students to build their leadership skills and make their voices heard on campus. It is also a great opportunity for students who are interested in SGA to get involved! There are different committees that students can sit on and come up with ideas to enhance campus life and boost student morale. If you are interested in joining as a general member, I highly encourage you to check us out! We meet on alternating Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7-8pm.
My name is Christopher Sorensen! I am an Aerospace Engineering major, and I grew up in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. I am so excited to be your SOAR Director and can’t wait to get to know the SOAR members and students on campus! I am looking forward to all of the leadership opportunities, events, and chances that we will have to impact everyone’s college experience! I do go by the name Topher on occasion, or, if you are so inclined, I will also respond to Tofu! Speaking of food, I LOVE cilantro, so if you ever need a great gift idea for me, there’s a subtle suggestion for you!

Hi there! My name is Sahil Singh, and I’m a freshman majoring in Aerospace Engineering on the Astronautics track. I’m from Fremont, a city in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. When I’m not having a great time in SOAR, I occupy my days with the Rocket Development Lab (RDL), Eagle Robotics, and Scouting. When I feel like unwinding, I love going on spontaneous Dutch Bros. runs, bouldering, and hiking through the magnificent Arizona wilderness. As we enter a new world post-lockdown, I look forward to helping bring the ERAU community back together with fun events and engaging student initiatives. I am beyond excited to serve as your SOAR Assistant Director and to help create a fun, inclusive campus for all of us. Feel free to email me if you have any questions, concerns, or if you just want to chat!
Hello! My name is Natalie Castillo, I’m from Las Vegas, Nevada, and majoring in Global Security and Intelligence Studies. I’m a licensed skydiver, and love adventure in general.
